Insurance - Premium Increase for Commercial and Workers' Compensation Insurance - Notice

Delegate Rudolph

Requiring an insurer to provide notice to an insurance producer of a premium increase for commercial and workers' compensation insurance; etc.

**This has been introduced on our behalf.  The proposed legislation adds the term 'and insurance producer, if any' to #1 of the three options provided to carriers when sending renewal notices.  Last year HB162 passed and required notice from carriers of any increase for commercial lines and workers compensation.  The bill provided three options.  Two of the options already include notice to the producer.  The third did not.  This bill replaces the '20% law'.  This bill, if passed, would include 'producer' language in all three options.  The carrier, if electing to send a renewal policy, would also be required to send the renewal policy to the named insurance producer, if any.

Insurance - Premium Increase for Commercial and Workers' Compensation Insurance - Notice
