HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

Any person, firm, or corporation who is licensed as a Maryland insurance agent or broker, as defined in Article 1-101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and operating on a commission and/or fee basis on his own account, shall be eligible for membership in the association.

The Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland is a "bottom up" association, which means we get our direction from the members at the local level. Membership in the local is also required, and quite beneficial.  Also, keep in mind that if the agency becomes a member so does all of the agency employees.

If you are not a Maryland agent or broker, but work in the insurance industry, you can still be a part of this exciting, leading state association.  We have many carriers, premium finance companies, software vendors, automation vendors, glass companies, rental car companies, and others that take part in our association as Associate Members. Associate members attend conventions and our education programs at membership prices and are a major part of  the 'networking' opportunities offered by IIAM.
